The creativity workshops for the project "Dor de Eminescu" 2024

In March 2024, the partner schools implementing the educational project "Dor de Eminescu - Missing Our National Poet" 2024, coordinated by Liceul Teoretic "Radu Vlădescu", organised local creativity workshops in both Romanian and English to select the finalists for the poetry writing competition on 5 April 2024.
At Colegiul Național "Mihai Eminescu" Buzău, the 9th and 11th graders - coordinated by their teacher of English, Mrs. Monica Haralambie - worked on developing their unique voices and styles as poets, inspired my Mihai Eminescu's poetry.

At Liceul Teoretic "Nicolae Iorga", this year's edition of the creativity workshop "Dor de Eminescu - Missing Our National Poet" fostered, among other benefits, the development of critical thinking skills by encouraging students to create and analyze digital resources based on Mihai Eminescu's work, reflect on the impact of digital media on poetry, and consider ethical implications of digital creativity.
The event provided a space for both the students and their teachers, Mrs. Maria Pană and Mrs. Cristina Tănăsescu, to experiment with creative expression in a digital context and explore unconventional approaches to poetry.
Overall, this digital creativity poetry workshop offered the participants an opportunity to blend traditional approaches and poetic forms with modern digital tools and platforms, empowering them to become versatile and innovative learners and creators in today's interconnected world.

The lower secondary pupils enrolled at Liceul Tehnologic Pătârlagele in classes 7 and 8, coordinated by their teachers of English and Romanian, Mrs. Maria Moală and Mrs. Sicaru Elena-Mădălina, had the opportunity to celebrate the poetic genius of our national poet and explore various forms of creative expression, such as visual arts, poetry, music etc. in a safe environment.

All the workshops encouraged self-expression and exploration, creating a supportive space where the participants could feel comfortable expressing themselves, their emotions and their feeling,  and sharing their ideas. This also involved establishing ground rules for constructive feedback, fostering a culture of inclusivity and respect, and minimizing judgment or criticism.

We strongly believe that creativity workshops like these succeed in instilling a mindset of lifelong learning and growth as the participants are encouraged to continue exploring their creative interests beyond the classroom, to seek out new opportunities for learning and development, and to embrace challenges as opportunities for growth. Overall, the educational aims were centered around empowering the participants to tap into their creative potential, developing valuable skills, and cultivating curiosity, exploration, originality and innovation.
