Bookfest 2024 - an eTwinning partnership with the Republic of Moldova

 Project description

Bookfest 2024 is a bilateral transdisciplinary project implemented by two eTwinning high schools: Liceul Teoretic “Radu Vlădescu” Pătârlagele (Romania) and Liceul Teoretic “Mihai Eminescu”, Florești (The Republic of Moldova) in order to meet the educational and personal development needs of their school communities in the 2023-2024 school year.


Project languages: Romanian and English

Pupils: >100 (at least 2 classes from each partner school)

Ages: 14-16

Subjects related to the project: Language and Literature, Foreign languages, ICT, Art, Civics

Key competences : literacy competence, multilingual competence, digital competence, personal, social and learning to learn competence, civic competence and cultural awareness and expression competence.

Aims : 

- to identify, share and integrate knowledge, skills, innovative teaching, learning and assessment techniques transgressing disciplinary practice in order to improve the key competences of the participating pupils as well as their digital literacy, critical thinking, problem-solving skills and creativity

- to promote pupils as agents of change and both school communities as inclusive and innovative learning organisations as well as their values following the eTwinning School Mission: the commitment to shared leadership, collaboration, sharing and team work 

Work process There will be monthly activities:

September 2023 – 1st online meeting to get to know each other, set up the project calendar, share responsibilities etc.

October 2023 – parental consent, code of conduct (netiquette, eSafety and copyright), initial evaluation questionnaire, participant introductions (including their hopes and expectations from the project) on Padlet

November 2023 – Favourite books in Romanian and English (titles, covers, quotations, literary themes, reviews etc.) – Wakelet collection

December 2023 – original open educational resources for teaching, learning and assessment created for the project

January 2024 – the transnational competition of multimedia presentations in Romanian/English created by the pupils (favourite author, book or character)

February 2024 – the collaborative creativity workshop on Canva (digital posters to promote the benefits of reading, eTwinning values (such as innovation, collaboration) and other positive lessons: friendship, love, dignity, courage, solidarity etc.

March 2024 – 2 digital collaborative books (in Romanian and English)

April 2024 - final evaluation of the project (Mentimeter surveys, Google forms, student testimonies etc.)

May 2024 – official online meeting (closure of the project, certification of active participation and contribution, dissemination activities – joint videos, blog and magazine articles, acrostic poem

June 2024 – QL Application in both countries

Expected results: a portfolio of original learning, teaching and assessment resources, multimedia presentations, a virtual exhibition of literary/motivational posters and two final collaborative books, in Romanian and English

Looking for team members for the eTwinning project “Let's Be Well Together!” (2023-2024)

The eTwinning project "Let's Be Well Together!" was founded in August 2023 by two eTwinning schools - Liceul Teoretic “Radu Vlădescu”, located in Pătârlagele town, Buzău county, Romania,  and Korgeneral Enver Akoğlu Ortaokulu, located in Bandırma town, Balikesir, Turkey.

The project team will identify and solve some of the problems affecting the well-being of each school community involved in this international partnership, while its local and transnational activities will contribute to the emotional, personal, social and academic development of the participants through collaboration, ICT tools and digital resources, intercultural dialogue and experience exchange.


The main aims of the project "Let's Be Well Together!"

- to build an international team based on collaboration and exchange of good practices, communication and positive change;

- to improve the individual and collective well-being in each partner school community through artistic expression, connectedness, physical and emotional health, outdoor activities, engagement and positive action;

- to cultivate and promote proactive attitudes and behaviours, especially the participants’ assertiveness, mindfulness, self-compassion, critical and creative thinking, problem-solving, motivation, caring, empathy, confidence and resilience etc.

- to develop the participants’ awareness, skills and abilities in terms of self-acceptance, conflict mediation and resolution, failure and negative emotion management, school-related stress, relationship problems, (cyber)bullying prevention rather than cure, coping with criticism and negativity etc.
