Curricular integration of the eTwinning project "Today's Seeds, Tomorrow's Trees" (2021-2022) Part I

"The integrated curriculum is a great gift to experienced teachers. It's like getting a new pair of lenses that make teaching a lot more exciting and help us look forward into the next century. It is helping students take control of their own learning." - M. Markus

On October 18th, 2021, at Radu Vlădescu Theoretical High School, three classes of 11th graders were involved in an original English lesson on the topic of rainforests. The lesson focused on some of the most voted aims of the eTwinning project "Today's Seeds, Tomorrow's Trees"(2021-2022): to learn about the flora and fauna of our planet, to change the attitudes of those who destroy our planet, to protect the environment (especially the forests) etc.

The students watched a video about Rainforests https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3vijLre760w and solved a related task. After they shared the results, they also shared their feedback on the activity, including some of the most interesting pieces of information they had just learned:

Some of the project aims can also be related to the following topics of the English language curriculum for the baccalaureate exam in Romania: personal life - lifestyle, human relationships - team work, adolescence; public life - contemporary life, environmental aspects, resource management strategies, youth and community life, civism etc.
