Looking for team members for the eTwinning project “From European Volunteering to Global Solidarity” (2020-2021)

The eTwinning project "From European Volunteering to Global Solidarity", founded by 2 eTwinning schools- “Radu Vlădescu” Theoretical High School, Pătârlagele, Buzău, Romania and Sincik Anadolu İmam Hatip Lisesi, Turkey- in September 2020, will allow a strategic partnership of pupils and teachers from different countries to embark on a new eTwinning journey and build an international team based on collaboration, communication and positive change. The younger generation of eTwinners aged between 6 and 19 years old, supported by their teachers, are the ones who will identify social, economic, educational, environmental needs or problems in their local communities and suggest ways to improve the situation, making their communities better places.

Local events (including online activities) such as auctions, donations, sponsored sports events, handmade souvenir workshops and sales, artistic performances etc. will be organised in order to provide the materials necessary to implement the local solutions, the students being the only project members to handle any financial/material resources.

The project aims at increasing awareness of volunteering in the partner schools, creating opportunities for the pupils to experience active participation in the civic life and social welfare of their communities through international collaboration, developing the students' key competences for lifelong learning and promoting eTwinning partnerships based on youth leadership, student agency, initiative, social inclusion, empathy, charity, tolerance etc. as stepping stones for global solidarity against contemporary challenges.

The main activities of the project include an online meeting to establish the team rules and shared responsibilities between the partners (26 September 2020), formal introductions through multimedia presentations of the partner schools and project team members (October 2020), identifying local needs/problems, building up international teams to provide and implement the solutions (November 2020-March 2021), sharing of results and good practice experiences/an online event with participants from all the partner schools- teachers and students (April-May 2021), project evaluation by eTwinning standards (June 2021) and Quality Label Application to certify the quality of the project (August 2021).

The expected results are:

- a strong team of committed and motivated volunteers acting as a source of empathy, solidarity, inspiration and emulation for their school and local communities;

- a portfolio of material evidence (photos, videos, files) relevant for the purposes and results of the project uploaded, disseminated and shared in the project TwinSpace;

- empowered students, creative thinkers and problem solvers actively involved in their local communities and better prepared for leadership and global solidarity;

- constructive feedback, proactive attitudes and positive comments from all the participants as far as the project TwinSpace activity is concerned;

- increased civic responsibility, cultural awareness and sense of initiative and more developed lifelong learning key competences and 21st century skills.
