On 16 October 2026, Liceul Teoretic „Radu Vlădescu” located in Pătârlagele, Buzău county, celebrated the Erasmus Days 2026 through the educational event “Learning and Growing – Skills for Tomorrow”, an initiative dedicated to promoting European cooperation, digital education and the development of key competences for the future. The event brought together students and teachers interested in European learning opportunities and the positive impact of Erasmus+ and eTwinning projects on school education.
Organised within the framework of the Erasmus+ accreditation project 2026-1-RO01-KA121-SCH-000423694, the activity highlighted the importance of international educational experiences in preparing young people for the challenges of an increasingly interconnected and digital world. It also provided an opportunity to share good practices, reflect on the benefits of European cooperation and encourage students to become active promoters of European values in their school community.
The event focused on the contribution of Erasmus+ to the development of essential competences, including literacy, mathematical and scientific skills, digital competence, active citizenship, communication and intercultural understanding. These abilities are fundamental to lifelong learning, personal development and successful participation in contemporary society. Through international projects, funded by the European Union, Romanian students have the opportunity to broaden their horizons, discover different educational approaches, exchange ideas with their European peers and develop a greater sense of responsibility towards their community.
A central component of the activity was the creation of six digital posters in English, designed by the students involved in Erasmus+ mobility activities. These digital products were intended to communicate the school’s European learning experiences, showcase the value of international partnerships and illustrate how participation in European projects can contribute to the development of skills for tomorrow.
The first poster, dedicated to Digital Education, highlighted the role of technology, innovation and online collaboration in the educational life of Liceul Teoretic „Radu Vlădescu”, recognised as an eTwinning School for 2025–2026. Particular attention was given to the responsible use of digital tools, online safety and the opportunities offered by technology for creating inclusive, interactive and collaborative learning environments.
The second poster explored the Impact of the Erasmus+ Programme, presenting the opportunities associated with the school’s Erasmus+ accreditation for 2023–2027 and the contribution of European projects to the development of the school community. Through mobility experiences and international cooperation, students and teachers can exchange good practices, discover new perspectives on education and strengthen their European identity.
The third poster focused on Citizenship, Civic Engagement, Inclusion and Diversity. It emphasised the importance of respect, equal opportunities, participation and solidarity in building an inclusive European community. By working with peers from different cultural and educational backgrounds, students learn to appreciate diversity, challenge stereotypes and understand the importance of active involvement in democratic life.
The fourth poster addressed Literacy, Mathematics and Science, drawing attention to the importance of fundamental competences in everyday life and future professional development. These skills support critical thinking, problem-solving, informed decision-making and the ability to interpret information in a world characterised by rapid technological and social change.
The fifth poster highlighted Cooperation and Sharing Best Practices, presenting teamwork, communication and international collaboration as essential elements of successful learning. European projects create meaningful opportunities for students to exchange ideas, work towards common goals and learn from different perspectives. Such experiences contribute to the development of interpersonal skills, mutual understanding and the ability to cooperate effectively in diverse environments.
The sixth poster, Innovating and Addressing Tomorrow’s Challenges, focused on critical thinking, creativity, adaptability and innovation. These competences are increasingly important for young people who must navigate changing educational, social and professional contexts. By encouraging students to explore new ideas and approach challenges constructively, European educational projects help them become independent learners and responsible citizens prepared for the future.
Beyond the creation of digital materials, the event offered participants an opportunity to reflect on the learning experiences gained through Erasmus+ and eTwinning activities. Multimedia presentations, photographs, digital products and students’ reflections illustrated the results of the school’s European partnerships. The three National Quality Labels awarded in September 2026 also provided an opportunity to acknowledge the value of collaborative educational projects and the commitment of teachers and students to quality European cooperation.
The activity was coordinated by Mrs. Claudia Emilia Frînculeasă, a teacher of English and European projects coordinator, and Mr. Constantin Mircică, teacher of Geography and school principal. Their involvement supported the promotion of European learning opportunities and encouraged students to share their experiences and take an active role in disseminating the outcomes of international cooperation.
Through their participation, the students strengthened their English communication skills, digital competence, presentation abilities and capacity for reflection. They also gained a clearer understanding of the relationship between European cooperation, inclusion, innovation and the development of competences relevant to their future. The activity encouraged them to recognise themselves not merely as beneficiaries of educational opportunities but also as contributors to a dynamic, collaborative and forward-looking school community.
The event’s expected outcomes included greater awareness of Erasmus+ and eTwinning opportunities, increased interest in future European projects, the promotion of the school’s international achievements and a stronger sense of belonging to the European community. The six digital posters, together with the multimedia presentations and photographic evidence, will serve as dissemination materials illustrating the educational value of European cooperation.
“Learning and Growing – Skills for Tomorrow” reaffirmed the commitment of Liceul Teoretic „Radu Vlădescu” to European values, digital innovation and lifelong learning. By connecting classroom learning with international experiences, the school continues to create opportunities for students to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to face tomorrow’s challenges with confidence, creativity and responsibility.
Erasmus Days 2026 was therefore more than a celebration of the Erasmus+ Programme. It was an invitation to learn from one another, embrace diversity, share good practices and recognise that education becomes richer when communities work together across borders.
Learning and growing together - for a more inclusive, innovative and connected Europe!
