The eTwinning event "Portraits of Mothers in English and American Literature"

The event aimed at stimulating the students' reading skills and developing feelings of admiration and appreciation for mothers while educating the feelings of maternal love and gratitude through literary creations in English and imaginary forays into the students' favourite literary works. 

The most popular portraits of mothers were: Mrs. March, from Little Women by Louisa May Alcott; Mrs. Ramsay, from To the Lighthouse by Virginia Woolf; Mrs. Dashwood, from Sense and Sensibility  by Jane Austen; Mrs. Joan Durbeyfield, from Tess of the d'Urbervilles by Thomas Hardy; Mrs. Bennett, from Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen and Mrs. Hester Prynne, from Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne.
