The transnational mobility activities carried out within the Erasmus project 2025-1-HR01-KA121-SCH-000313784, implemented by OŠ “Vladimir Nazor” Komletinci in cooperation with Liceul Teoretic "Radu Vlădescu", provided students and teachers with valuable educational, cultural, and social experiences. The programme promoted intercultural dialogue, creativity, teamwork, and mutual understanding between the Croatian and Romanian participants through a series of interactive lessons, workshops, and collaborative activities.
On Monday, 4 May, the activities began with multimedia presentations prepared by class 8B. Through digital tools and creative presentations, the students introduced their schools and their cultural heritage. The presentations encouraged communication in English and helped the project participants become more confident in public speaking while also learning about cultural similarities and differences between Croatia and Romania.
The programme continued with a demonstration lesson in class 4A entitled “My Dream School.” During this activity, the younger students expressed their ideas about the ideal learning environment through discussions, drawings, and collaborative tasks. The lesson promoted imagination, creativity, and active participation, while the visiting teachers observed modern teaching methods and student-centred approaches used in the English classroom.
Later that day, the students from class 5A organized outdoor icebreaker games designed to strengthen friendships and encourage teamwork among participants. Through sports and cooperative challenges, the students quickly developed positive relationships and improved communication skills in an informal environment. The activities created a welcoming atmosphere and helped all the participants feel included and motivated.
Another important activity on Monday was the demonstration lesson “Reading is My Passion,” led by the Romanian language teacher. The students in class 6A explored the importance of reading in personal development and discussed some of their favourite books and characters. The lesson highlighted the role of literature in developing empathy, imagination, and critical thinking, while also encouraging the students to share opinions and practice language skills.
On Tuesday, the participants visited different school spaces, including classrooms, laboratories, the library, sports facilities, etc. The school tour allowed the guests to become familiar with the Romanian educational environment and exchange ideas about school organization, teaching resources, and extracurricular activities. The teachers and students discussed similarities and differences between the Croatian and Romanian education systems.
The second day also included two collaborative workshops. The first workshop, “Your Words and Our Words”, focused on communication, creativity, and teamwork. The students in class 7B worked together with the Croatian pupils on collaborative products that combined visual expression with written language. This activity encouraged cooperation between international teams and strengthened intercultural communication skills.
The second workshop, “Cultural Heritage of Our Homeland,” involved the students in class 6A. The participants presented important elements of their national heritage, including traditions, folklore, historical landmarks, customs, music, and gastronomy. Through this workshop, the students gained a deeper understanding of cultural identity and learned to appreciate the richness and diversity of European cultures.
On Wednesday, the mobility activities continued with the school talent show, where the host students demonstrated their artistic and creative abilities through music, dance, acting, and other performances. The event celebrated talent, self-expression, and student confidence while creating a joyful atmosphere for all the participants.
The final activity was the collaborative workshop “Seeds of Friendship” with class 8B. The workshop focused on mental health, friendship, emotional well-being, and understanding the natural world. Through discussions and group activities, the students reflected on the importance of empathy, cooperation, and environmental awareness. The workshop strengthened the bonds created during the mobility and emphasized the values of friendship, inclusion, and mutual respect that are central to the Erasmus programme.
Overall, the mobility activities successfully promoted international cooperation, cultural exchange, and personal development, leaving the participants with meaningful experiences, new friendships, and lasting memories.
