On 28 October 2025, I had the opportunity to to explore the promotion and implementation of eTwinning projects as a powerful tool for fostering international collaboration and digital competence in schools during the job-shadowing mobility held within the Erasmus project 2025-1-RO01-KA121-SCH-000321135 funded by the European Union.
The mobility highlighted how the teachers of Liceul Teoretic Radu Vlădescu, an eTwinning School 2025-2026, actively integrate eTwinning into their curricula, using it to connect students with peers across Europe. Liceul Teoretic “Radu Vlădescu” implemented a number of four eTwinning projects during the 2024-2025 school year: Bookfest 2025, Digital Explorers and Promoters of Cultural Heritage, All Together for a Global Celebration, and Sari Gelin Tours Europe and more than 5 eTwinning projects during the 2025-2026 school year: A Song for Our Souls in an English-Speaking World, Bookfest 2026, EcoDigital Explorers for Sustainability, Colourful Celebrations, Drop by Drop Our Future etc.
During my presentation, I shared some of my most valuable lessons where collaborative projects on cultural topics, language learning, civic participation and digital creativity engaged students in meaningful communication and teamwork and emphasized the importance of planning, structured timelines, and clear roles for the students, ensuring that projects remain interactive, goal-oriented, and pedagogically relevant.
A key component of the visit was the exchange of strategies for promoting eTwinning within the school community. I also learned from our host school representatives and several Polish students about creating awareness among the extended community members, organizing workshops, and using social media and school websites to showcase project outcomes. The host teachers also demonstrated how eTwinning can be aligned with other school initiatives, such as digital literacy, intercultural education, inclusion, volunteering and blended learning practices.
Through discussions and joint activities, we reflected upon the potential of eTwinning partnerships to enhance language learning, digital skills, and intercultural understanding in our classrooms and beyond. The experience inspired me to design future projects that actively involve students in collaborative online environments, promote creativity, and strengthen the connection between Romanian and European schools.
Overall, the mobility reinforced the value of eTwinning as an educational and motivational tool, empowering both teachers and students to engage in innovative, cross-border learning experiences.
