Europe Day 2023

On May 9, 2023, the entire school community of  Liceul Teoretic "Radu Vlădescu" Pătârlagele participated in the activities of the local project entitled  "9 May 2023 - Împreună pentru Ziua Europei/ Together for Europe Day/ Ensemble pour la Journée de l'Europe".

The main goal of the project was the promotion of Unity in Diversity, of the values ​​and objectives that are at the basis of the European Union: the maintenance of international peace and security, acting in the spirit of solidarity and mutual respect between peoples, the protection of human rights, respect for cultural and linguistic diversity, awareness of European citizenship and cultivating a sense of belonging to the European Project based on cooperation, freedom, tolerance and non-discrimination, inclusion, stability, economic and social cohesion, sustainable development, access to Erasmus+ and eTwinning learning and professional training opportunities etc.

The main aims of the project were:

- to capitalize on real opportunities to promote the existing positive attitudes in the school and local communities towards the European Union and for collaboration between students and teaching staff in an activity involving the entire school;

- to raise awareness of European cultural identity, in all its diversity;

- to acknowledge not only the positive aspects generated by the status of being a European Union member state, but also the responsibility for the present and future of Europe, in terms of peace, the protection of the environment and the rational use of natural resources, the defence of democracy and human rights, the access to high quality educational opportunities etc.;

- to celebrate the eTwinning Day 2023 and promote the eTwinning School Label 2023-2024 recently awarded to Liceul Teoretic "Radu Vlădescu" Pâtârlagele, by implementing an example of good practices regarding the mission of eTwinning Schools based on collective leadership, collaboration and teamwork, student agency, inclusion and innovation, acting as models for other schools etc.











Each class of students received the invitation to contribute to the Europe Day 2023 Event by creating  the presentation of a European Union member country in a festive setting, in the middle of the school community. All the classes of students accepted the invitation and prepared a short presentation - a description (with relevant information in the given context), collaborative posters, short cultural-artistic moments, dramatizations etc. – which the class representatives delivered to the audience made up of students, teachers and parents. 

The order of the presentations was as follows: Preparatory Class A - Austria, Preparatory Class B - Belgium, Class 1A - Bulgaria, Class 1B - The Czech Republic, Class 2 - Cyprus, Class 3A - Croatia, Class 3B - Denmark, Class 4A - Estonia, Class 4B - Finland, Class 5A - France, Class 5B – Germany, Class 6A – Greece, Class 6B – Ireland, Class 7 – Italy, Class 8A – Latvia, Class 8B – Lithuania, Class 9A – Luxembourg, Class 9B – Malta, Class 9C – Poland, Class 9U – Portugal, Class 10A - The Czech Republic, Class 10B - Romania, Class 10C - Slovakia, Class 10U - Slovenia, Class 11A - Spain, Class 11B - Sweden, Class 11C - The Netherlands, Class 11U - Hungary.

The 12th graders assessed the class presentations and awarded diplomas to recognize and encourage the originality, creativity, attractiveness, effectiveness, relevance, collaboration, expressiveness, inclusiveness, enthusiasm and persuasiveness of the presentations, as well as the novelty of the information and the impact on the participants of the event.
