On March 24, 2023, the two coordinating teachers and the young project team members, supported by the deputy headmaster of Liceul Teoretic "Radu Vlădescu", Mrs. Mirela Raluca Diaconu, and the school librarian, Mrs. Liliana Gavrilă, organised the last meeting to officially close this partnership, provide the necessary feedback, acknowledge the contribution and progress made during the last six months and certify participation.
The participants agreed that this international partnership enabled them to actively involve in their own process of learning and character development, improving not only their literacy, linguistic, learning to learn, digital, civic, social, cultural awareness and expression etc. competences, but also their knowledge of the world and of themselves, their self-esteem, school motivation, and mindset.
During the project, the pupils learned to use the multimedia technology both creatively and critically and they succeeded in becoming familiarized with digital tools such Padlet, Google Forms, Jamboard, BookCreator, StoryJumper, WordArt, Kahoot, Learningapps, Canva, Mentimeter, Garden Answer etc. in a safe, supportive and motivational environment.
The participating schools collaborated in all the project activities, the exchange of knowledge, experience and good practices becoming a regular practice for all the teachers. During the project implementation, we had 4 online meetings to share tasks, assign responsibilities, plan, monitor, discuss and evaluate the project activities, provide feedback, solutions and suggestions so that all the project aims could be achieved by everyone, including the less experienced partners who needed guidance and support.
Collaborative learning proved to be a rewarding and engaging educational experience which improved the participants' skills and helped the young learners to understand the importance of values in our lives.
In one of the online meetings, held on 20.12.2022, pupils from the partner schools had the opportunity to interact, connect, share ideas, experience and feedback which raised their enthusiasm and motivation.
At the local level, in our school, the project activities were implemented together by 2 teachers, one of English and one of Romanian.
As project founders and partners, we shared expertise, our best practices and learned from each other, improving our teaching styles in non-formal educational contexts and our professional portfolios with new strategies and resources (most of us created original Open Educational Resources for this project), supporting each other, facilitating curricular integration and the development of new competences.
The pupils achieved collaborative results both locally, as they were determined to meet some of their most stringent needs (such as promoting a healthy lifestyle, gratitude and family, especially maternal love), and internationally, thus expanding their knowledge, skills and cultural background, buiding their self-esteem and increasing their confidence levels.
