The Charity Action - one of the main activities of the eTwinning project "From European Volunteering to Global Solidarity" (06/11/2020)

On November 6th, 2020, more than 30 students enrolled in the 10th form at "Radu Vlădescu" Theoretical High School, located in Pătârlagele town, Buzău county, Romania, together with parents and teachers, organised a charity action whose beneficiaries were the members of a disadvantaged family in our local community.

One of the main activities of the eTwinning project "From European Volunteering to Global Solidarity", the charity action was initiated and completed by the students of an eTwinning School 2020-2021, whose mission is to ensure that the promise of change in education is maintained, so that the members of our school community are nurtured to become better people, better learners, better and more active citizens.

The two coordinators, Mr. Eugen Duțu and Mrs. Emilia Frînculeasă, facilitated an opportunity for the students and their parents to experience active participation in the civic life and social welfare of their community through collaboration, a closer partnership between the school and the students' families and genuine, inclusive and innovative student-centered education.

The Book Donation - one of the main activities of the eTwinning project "From European Volunteering to Global Solidarity" (04/11/2020)

On November 4th, 2020, sixty students enrolled at "Radu Vlădescu" Theoretical High School, Pătârlagele town, Buzău county, Romania, and two teachers, took part in an activity meant to promote volunteering and solidarity, while encouraging positive changes and attitudes in our school community during these challenging times.

The 10th graders identified an educational need and used their creativity, energy, enthusiasm and resources to organise an event meant to improve the current situation and set a positive example.

The lessons we learned from this experience go beyond volunteering, team spirit and solidarity. We learned about how to restore hope, how to believe in youth initiative, student agency and leadership and also about how to raise awareness of our individual and collective responsibility to make this world a better place.

Focus on Europe - a new eTwinning partnership for our school community

Dear students, parents and esteemed members of our school community,

eTwinning and Erasmus+ have given us another opportunity;

This school year we have received a brand new chance

To Focus on the Future of our Dearest Continent!

Active citizenship, social inclusion, equality and solidarity,

These are the values for the better world that we will build.

By now we know we have both rights and responsibilities,

That's why taking care of everyone is our moral duty;

So, let's address the Sustainable Development Goals together

Let's make this world the place we've all dreamed of for ever;

Living in peace and harmony, protecting human rights

Will turn our European dreams into much better lives.
