The Blue Heart Campaign, one of the main activities of the eTwinning project "From European Volunteering to Global Solidarity"

Between November 25th and December 10th 2020, "Radu Vlădescu" Theoretical High School will organize an online campaign and you are all invited to join our cause!!!

By working collaboratively, twelve sophomores studying at "Radu Vlădescu" Theoretical High School created a presentation meant to inform and educate the members of our international community and raise awareness of the phenomenon of human trafficking in order to prevent, reduce or combat it, take a stand against human trafficking in all its forms while showing solidarity and compassion for the victims.

Our campaign was inspired by the initiative of the UNODC, https://www.unodc.org/blueheart/, whose symbol against human trafficking, representing the sadness of those who are trafficked while reminding us of the cold-heartedness of those who buy and sell fellow human beings, we adopted for our Blue Heart Campaign.

Other students have already joined this cause and shared their blue hearts for the campaign.

On December 10th, there will be an online event on the eTwinning platform to share the results of our initiative with the international community and, hopefully, inspire similar actions which will eventually create a safer, more humane world, where exploitation, torture, cruelty and abuse are not silently permitted and the most vulnerable society members- women and children- are protected.

The Book Donation - one of the main activities of the eTwinning project "From European Volunteering to Global Solidarity" (04/11/2020)

On November 4th, 2020, sixty students enrolled at "Radu Vlădescu" Theoretical High School, Pătârlagele town, Buzău county, Romania, and two teachers, took part in an activity meant to promote volunteering and solidarity, while encouraging positive changes and attitudes in our school community during these challenging times.

The 10th graders identified an educational need and used their creativity, energy, enthusiasm and resources to organise an event meant to improve the current situation and set a positive example.

The lessons we learned from this experience go beyond volunteering, team spirit and solidarity. We learned about how to restore hope, how to believe in youth initiative, student agency and leadership and also about how to raise awareness of our individual and collective responsibility to make this world a better place.
